Bobby Hurst and his wife, Lilith, are proud long-term residents of District 5. They are blessed with a four year old son Dylan. There are three other children in their family; Katie who resides in Burlington, Chris in Fayetteville and Michael in New Mexico.
Bobby is a graduate of Terry Sanford High School and Elon University (BA in Business Administration). Bobby is the Vice President and Sales Manager of Hurst Annaho Supply Company. Bobby possesses the educational background and the business experience needed to lead our city forward.
Bobby has devoted himself not only to his family and business but also to our community. He has generously donated his practical leadership and 35-years of managerial experience to support many local organizations. His volunteerism includes serving as the Community Liaison for Operation Ceasefire, a local initiative of the federal Project Safe Neighborhoods program, Chairman of Fayetteville Beautiful and Government Relations Chairman of the Cape Fear Botanical Garden. It is important to Bobby that Fayetteville is safe, clean, and an enjoyable place for residents to live and thrive.

Local leaders are quick to recognize Bobby’s knowledge of our local and regional business environment. He had served as the Economic Development Vice-Chairman for the Fayetteville Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Planning Committee. He currently serves as the Liaison to the Public Works Commission and Chair of the Appointment Committee for Boards and Commissions. His valued leadership was acknowledged publicly when he was appointed to the Fayetteville City Council in 2000 after the passing of long-time Mayor J. L. Dawkins. Bobby was elected to serve in 2007, 2009 and seeks a third term.
Faith has been a constant theme in Bobby’s life. It has shaped his honorable character and instilled a strong commitment to integrity and family values. He presided over the Men’s Ministry at Northwood Temple Church for six years and served as Senior Commander of the Royal Rangers for 17 years.
